    SETI@Home What gives????

I have installed SETI@HOME and I have running it for about 2 hrs. now. I have signed myself up for the Sysopt Team but I can;t see any results on the SysOpt page at http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/c...m+Optimization I am rank 99 and I CAN'T see any results what is there to do. Do I have to change special settings in SETI@HOME?

First off, you hafta complete at least one block before u see any result. (U should see the % done on your Client). Furthermore, I believe its updated daily (not sure, dont remember for sure)

It should be updated daily just like the RC5 client standings and team standings.

    Welcome aboard!

Tahnk You but I still can't see any credit. Now I am Rank 100 Do I have to be on the Internet to receive credit?

I hope I can figure this out to give to get credit for the work I am doing and to get credit for the SyspOpt Team.

Heres the deal I ran across, the SETI does the same thing that the Distributed does, uses idle time of the cpu. I did the same thing. I was running the d.net client cracking about 600mkeys a day, loaded SETI and cracked about 10 blocks over a 24 hour period. Depends, if your dedicated to the team don't do it, but if you want a space ship named after you go for the SETI. I chose the team, plus the SETI thing was having problems uploading the blocks I cracked anyway

It takes the average computer about 15-30 hours of idle cpu time to complete a work unit. Then Seti will come up and ask you to send the completed unit back to them and get a new unit to work on. You need to connect to the internet and click the send now button. Then and only then will you see your stats change.

    Matt..
