We need to recruit and get anything with a cpu and a power supply cracking.
I'm still finding systems. Just added a 486 100 and hopefully I can get another celeron 400+ up this weekend.

I just recruited more computers today at work (Sears)
I've got the client running on a C366, AMD K6-2 400, and a Cyrix 366!!
It averages to about another 3Mkeys/sec plus my C466 @ 583 and my friends P3 450, P200 MMX, P133, P120, P100, and 486 66!
In the next week or so, you should notice a big increase in my keyrate!

I have inceased my daily blocks 2-4 times now
(before was around 900-1000) but the keys still droppping.
I guess some of our members had left already.
we need more computers to join us.

well ill get my c333@522 running it...how good is that compared to others???and how many blocks can i crack per day???
-
It is fairly easy to calculate keyrate. 1 MKS produces approximately 300 countable blocks per day. 500MHz machine runs at approximately 1.39 MKS. It produces 18.46 countable blocks per hour and 443 countable blocks per 24 hours when it is only running the client.
For simplicity, just assume that 1 MKS produces 300. If your machine does .5 MKS which shows up in the summary as 500 KKS, it will make approximately 150 countable blocks in 24 hours.

Hi,
Got 2 new computers cracking this week under my email address, which will be showing up on the stats sever.
1 PII 233
1 PPro 200
I uninstalled the PIIX patches on my NT4 machine, which I use for serving blocks to my friends as they like the 15min stat update, and we are usually on at the same time, and it now runs at 375MHz! I don't have a BX motherboard for it, but when I do get one the processor can reach 464 with no problem.
lets get cracking
[Jul 24 10:06:03 UTC] Completed one RC5 block B1D6E6C7:60000000 (1*2^28 keys)
0.00:03:14.71 - [1,378,642.37 keys/sec]

I've noticed that most people's average key rate has dropped. What's going on?
-
Scared parents. Well sort of. I now am not allowed to leave on any of my computers all night, unless they aren't inside. Fire hazards they say.
Well if the computer hasn't blown up - I've had this motherboard since Febuary, and the LX board since September, when will it? I've got a 386 with Linux which was built in 1988 and it is still running.

Did you have your computers out of their cases, strung across your bed and/or a pile of clothes on your floor, while still running? Did you acceidentally spill gasoline on them? Isn't that natural operating conditions?
So does this scrap you 'warpcore' project?
-
No, thank goodness!
The rc56 cracker will be out in an empty room, and if it does decide to blow it will only blacken some plain walls.
I was looking at the gotoworld stats, and not many people are using the browser. I think that it is better, with a built in translator, skins, e.t.c. and money for free.

A couple of responses:
First, while I've personally added machines in, I've slowly lost almost all the machines I had cracking for me at my university (around 80 of em). They've been ghosted over the summer, and I won't be able to get those machines back for a month. So there goes 30 MKey/s off my stats. The good news is that, assuming I can get the machines at school cracking again, we have added a bunch of Celeron 400s (actually 80, count em ) and most will be on at least 10 hours a day (probably half of em 24/7). If I were able to get my hands on these, it'll put my keyrate somewhere in the 60s or 70s MKey/s. Believe me, I'm going to try.
As far gotoworld goes, they've changed their browser so you have to actually click something everytime. I personally hate the browser for normal work so I never use it on my main machine. The only time I'd have it up would be on another machine... but of course, you have to click something every three minutes. I'm working on digging up a program that will program the mouse to click wherever it is located every 2 min or so. That should fix that problem.

Last time I tried to download it it kept on becoming corrupt. Accually everything I downloaded became corrupt. Then windows kindly trashed it's own registry. I restored from backup and the problem went away. So I'll try again at getting that.

Hi,
My version of the browser doesn't have anything like that. I have the origional + the first patch, and I get credited with time.
Brendan.
