    SysOpt PerProxy?

    Hi,
I have a personal proxy, with stats updated every 10 mins available for any sysopt member.

Its only online sometimes, so thats why we need someone with a 24/7 net connection to set up the software on their computer. I can provide full instructions so if anyone wants to e-mail me at webmaster@bkehoe.com , I'll be happy to help you set it up.

If you want to see what it is like to use my proxy, start your client, go to the network section of configuration, and for the server type in bkehoe.dynip.com on port 2064 and make sure that NEVER FALLBACK is checked. This will ensure that your blocks will be sent to my server, and not go to the main keyserver and thus not be tracked.
To get your stats go to bkehoe.dynip.com/stats N.B. This is just for you to see what it would be like if another team membver with 24/7 net access offered to host a proxy like this.

Note - these URLS will only work when I'm online, and is just a test showing you what a perproxy and stats can do. Again anyone with a 24/7 net connection could contact me and we'll set up the server. It doesn't take many resources at all.

    Bye,
    Brendan

    I saw them come in.

I have to go offline now (they telecom company know how to charge), but I'll be back at approx 5PM GMT (2PM EST Summer time) for 6 hours so if anyone wants to take a look then they are more than welcome!

    Bye,
    Brendan.

    Hi,
Well its online for a while now.

Would there be enough interest in it, with say, stats updated every hour, if I could find someone to host it?

I know I'm "addicted" on stats anyway.

    Bye.

Sometime soon I'll be getting SDSL (768k/sec) with a dedicated IP address so I'll set up a PProxy for Sysopt. My computer is on 24/7 anyway. Do you think this is enough bandwidth for a PProxy? My system is a:

    Asus P2B-F
    C366 @ 458Mhz.
    160MB SDRAM
    5.1GB Hard Drive

    Will this be good enough?

    Hi,
Sure - thats more than fast for the server. Anandtech's is a Pii 266.

Mine is a PII 300, 64MB, with NT Server on a 56k connection.

The colour coding can be fully customised - whenever we go about setting it up someone who is excellent at colour coding can do the colours.

    Bye,
    Brendan

What are the hours of your proxy? I'll send some when it's open.

Done. Now buffeing between 500, and 100 blocks.

Did you get my e-mail - about me going away tomorrow (Sunday)? I will be gone for 3 weeks, so if someone e-mails me about having a 24/7 netconnection I will guide them through setting it up, and then let all of you know here - I will have my laptop, and am after signing up for a free ISP in the U.S.

I think I may post a message to General, to see if anyone there who cracks RC5 (and isn't interested in this forum) may like to do it. They would also get their own website too, with space as big as their hard disk for it too, along with the best webserver in the world, Apache.

Anyway, the RC5 Cracker's page is up on my website - link in signature.

    I like the rc5 sysopt/tweakit logo

I had just flushed the client before I visited the forum, so I will send blocks later.
