RC5-Net Admin ?
I'm the network admin for a small college. Is there anyway to set the client software to be password protected, or locked down in some way so the students can't mess with the settings?

I haven't tried it, but could you run it as a network application from a network drive and only store the buff-in and outs locally, the individual blocks are encoded once they are completed. As long as the user does not have write access the ini file on the server.
Just an idea.

this is probably not necessary but please, please, PLEASE make sure you have permission to run the client.
i understand there is a way to hide the working client on workstations... www.distributed.net/FAQ/
looking forward to hearing you're "in".

You can hide the client, but those "power users" may, and more than likely will find it. And then they will change the e-mail on it or just tear it up.

What type of network are you running? Different types have different setup options.
