We need a little more info. Like what the error is. What OS you are on. What some of your computer spec's are. What you have tried to do.
So with a stab in the dark here. Have you tried to do a repair on IE5. Go START/PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/SYSTEM TOOLS/SYSTEM INFORMATION/TOOLS TAB/I.E.REPAIR... See if it can repair itself. Then post back and let us know what happened and the rest of the info we need to help better.

I get the same problem once in a while to in win 2k. I followed your path got all the way to the tools tab but there was no IE Repair. What OS is that for? I haven't found out whats causing this yet. Once in a While I'll get the same errors in Outlook Express to.

    Haven't used Win 2K but,

In Win 98 yo can self repari by going

    START/Control Panel/Add Remove Prog/Microsoft Internet Expl/Add Remove

    Then select Repair Option

It's the same as the one available in System Information under tools tab.

Just a shot in the dark.....

Incidentally.....I tried the repair with V 5.5 but didn't improve much so I updated to IE 6...no problems yet....
