hmmm.. well I'm saying

1 - router; as it connects networks of different architectures and protocols...

2 - gateway; connects networks using different protocols...

They're pretty tricky, in the wording. :/

Well I'm back... went to do a little "celebrating" so sorry it took me a few hours to get back to you with the results....

I passed with an 83... I thought I did much better than that though... have no clue which questions I got wrong. Oh well, much learned from studying for this cert... onto CIW.

Well the way I took the exam was this... I marked the questions which I wasn't sure of, which were about 7 or 8 of them, and went back to them at the end. I didn't go thru the whole test again for fear that I may 2nd guess already-correct answers. So I thought that wasn't bad odds for a good score if I was only unsure of 7 or 8 answers. I finished in 20 minutes... but it turns out I got 14 incorrect altogether. The score report they print out for you only gives you the categories of the questions you got wrong... like "Explain the issues involved in copyrighting, trademarking, and licensing." ... there were 14 listings like that and it gives me an idea of what I got wrong, if I happened to remember the questions. Which I don't for the most part. All in all, it was a good test and I did learn a lot of details about the internet/networking/security from it... even though I already have 1.5 years of real-world experience with internet & development.

Onto CIW... weren't you going for that or something similar too?

Good plan, rh. I take tests the same way.. go back to the unsure ones afterward.

Late last year I was studying for the A+ (btw, CMonster I stil have to get your books back to you ) but then I started a new job with lots of OT and had I still had my job at SysOpt, too, so it was pretty hard finding any time to study.

Now I'm taking Web Design courses, which I enjoy and I've learned alot. But I wonder if I should have stuck with MCSE or Networking, because I really like that area, too.

So much to learn.. so many areas...
