It usually takes several months to several years for things like that to quit stinking.

After a dead man had been in the trunk of a Cadillac for most of the summer here in Fairbanks, Alaska, they couldn't sell even the engine and driveline parts let alone the whole car. They tried repainting and reupholstering the inside and the stink was still so strong it would knock your hat off.

Could be mould growing in evaperator case, first there should be a drain hole, this could plug up. It should be at bottom of heater/ac case, under the hood side, there may be a small hose attatched, check for blockage! also leaves get in the air intake check that. You can also spray lysol around the air intake this should kill any mould growing.
How about the interior, carpet perhaps, get a shampoo

sprinkle coffee grounds around the interior place some in the a/c intake. this is how truckers take the seafood smell out of their trailers. barry

PeeYou! what died in my car?
It really stinks! How long will it rot? I think a lizard crawled up the a/c duct and died.

I'm pretty sure it is in my duct. It's only bad when I closeup and run the ac. One time in another car I found a petrified lizard in the duct. If one got in, it probably went in the vent for cover and baked in the sun.
