    Dynamic or Static?

I currenlty use Static IP for my LAN computers. Should I change to Dynamic (automatic)? Will I gain/lose anythiong by doing so? I have 5 machines on the LAN.

    Thanks!

i have several in my lab at home and i use static addresses simply because i can look at an ip address in a packet sniff and know exactly which machine it came from. for me, it makes life easier. if you don't have a reason to go with dhcp then there's really no need to.

It is how you assign IP's dynamically.
