    Proxy

I'm finally about to set up my dedicated test machine (which I'll use Norton Ghost for).

I need a way to transfer files from my networked main computer to the test PC and it might also be nice to be able to access the Internet from the test PC. Thus I figure I need a cheap (preferably free) proxy software. Anybody have any recommendations?

Also I don't want to add a network card to the test PC. Is a direct parallell cable connection an acceptable solution? (i.e will this yield a reasonable speed?).

not as good as your cheapest 10bt nic card. You can get some decent ones for about $20 go ahead and spen the money on it you'll like the results a lot better than that crappy parallel. There is a place called winfiles.com and they have a bunch of freeware and shareware progs. And yes even proxy servers. Try them out.
