Peer-to-Peer Simultaneously Data Updating
I want to know if anyone knows of any applications/programs that you can be on a peer-to-peer network with a file open, as soon as you close/save it, it updates all the other nodes on the network. Example: I have a file under My Douments open. As soon as I close it, it is saved on my system. If another node opens up the same document on there system, its not the updated file that I just modified. I need to manually go to each node and overwrite that document to make sure everyone adds to my modified file. I know a server would be ideal ($$$) but its only 2-3 computers. Please let me know if you have any ideas or know of any programs that seach the net for updated files. Thanks!!!

If $$$ is the issue, why not just use one of the computers to house all of the documents (My Documents Folder) on the network and then map a network drive from the other computers to that folder.
If I understand what you are trying to do that should work, only problem would be that only one person could be working on any single file at any one time. As long as you do not need to access the same file at the same time you should be set.

Thanks for the help. I did forget about how much easier it would be to map a drive then always seaching over the network for the required folders. I will do this to make life more easier. I was wondering if anybody knew of a program that will copy the new/changed files of a designated dir to all the nodes on the network. Thanks again!!!

I am not aware of any such program, although there may be one.

Win98/ie5 has a synchronize command which will update the contents of folders. If you only have only have a few files like a calendar what about having a task scheduler update them periodically?

The need exist to have more than one user viewing the file.
Such as a calendar of events or company due dates.
