Win98 shutdown problems with AOpen ALN201

I just got a new PC a short time ago and I'm having trouble with shutting down/restarting in Windows 98 SE. I'm getting stuck at the "Windows is shutting down" screen. The problem seems to be my AOpen ALN-201 network card; when it's disabled everything works fine. If I try toggling full duplex/half duplex then do a restart, that works once but not afterwards.

I'm using a Pentium III 450 on a Asus P3B-F motherboard. Any ideas?

    Sput,

You have disabled "fast shutdown" and you have installed the most current drivers for your NIC ? Those are the most common fixes for the hang at shutdown

The drivers are the latest that I could locate, so I tried re-enabling fast shutdowns and restarting. That let me restart the computer correctly, but when I tried to shutdown it restarted instead. But, when I disabled the fast shutdowns again, it seems to be working. Hmm.

Anyways, thanks a lot for the quick response.
