how to play q2 over proxy

I am planning on setting up a proxy with Linux and socks5 or TIS firewall, and I was wondering if it is possible to play q2 over a proxy. Does anyone have any experience with this matter?

    Yes you can...

In the Linux IP masquerade setup though, you need to allow for a few things (such as real audio, quake, irc, etc) in your rc.firewall file. If you check out the IP MASQ HOWTO on Linux.org, you'll see what I mean if you follow those directions step by step.
