Won't pass post with any network card
I have a bx6 2.0 motherboard with a cel 300a and intel i740 agp card. I've tried two different NIC cards but the computer will not even pass post with either card unless i remove the agp card and replace it with a pci video card. I used both a netgear and a soho card.
I have a second almost identical system, except it has a bh6 motherboard. The Network cards work in that system along with the same i740agp card.
I've tried different pci slots and played around with the bios but no good.
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks Mike.

Sounds like you have an IRQ or IO address conflict.
Have you checked device manager to see what what is IRQ's are free.
Are you running Win 95 or Win 98??
You may want to try different IRQ's for the video card.
Do you have a PCI video card to try??

have you checked your bios settings? if you enable your agp instead of the pci --it might work. Do not define an Irq settings for the vga in your bios settings. Hope it works.

are your agp drivers and the pci/usb bus enabled, some mobo require this to run agp correctly. it is possible that the agp isn't setup and causes conflict with teh pci bus.
just a thought.

I am using win98.
I think the bios assigns irqs on boot up.
Since i can't even pass post with the agp card, i can't check for conflict.
With the pci video card, i boot fine and show no conflict of resources.
I'll try one more time on friday to see if i can resolve the problem. So far I've just been using a pci video card.
Thanks for the tips.
I find it so unprofessional that Abit refuses to answer my repeated e_mail for help.
