    Access and 2 computer network

Im settin up a network of two computers for someone one a desktop and the other a laptop.
This person wants to use Microsoft Access, but I've warned him that access would lock up if two computers access the database at the same time. What I want to know is if any data may be lost if this happens.

We use access97 on a 7 station lan. Our main program is shared from the server and is totally multiuser. While the data base we use is custom written, I believe you'll find all access dbase's that way. Good luck, dampilot

Access should not have a problem with two users. Since the 2nd machine is a laptop you might want to consider a replicated database.

We've been using a replicated Access databasae for a pilot program for about 6 months. It's used nationwide by about 100 people. (yes...there are problems... but it does work...)
