    full/half Duplex, help????

I have just gotten onto the @home network. I had purchased a Dlink 528ct PCI ethernet card. I am happy with the card. However, in network neighbourhood, I have the option of changing the card to half or full duplex. I have no idea what this means.

Is it good or bad, and what will be better for performance.

You guys are great, thanks in advance....

full duplex means that the network card can send and receive data simultaneously, while half-duplex transmission means the information flows in both directions but only one way at a time so the card has a small turnaround time while it waits for a clear line, in effect the cards take turns in transmitting data ie.full duplex is faster
