    Biostar P4M800-M7 A

I have a Biostar P4M800-M7 A motherboard and I installed a Pentium 4 3.60 Ghz Dual Core processor along with the heatsink/fan myself. When I turn it on it freezes up even on the Bios screen. When I try to install XP Pro on it it starts the process then the video is loss. Can anyone tell me what the problem could be?

Looks to me like your cpu isn't supported.

Well I thought the board was capable of handling a dual core processor Pentium 4 at 3.60 Ghz. It is a socket 775. If you are right could you point me in the right direction with a processor that will max out my board?

It depends of the version of the motherboard.

Pentium 4 3.60 Ghz Dual Core processor
What is the exact sspec of your CPU? It sounds like you are talking about a Pentium D, not a Pentium 4. There are a couple different s775 Pentium 4s at 3.6G, but not dual core.

My guess would be that your board would support up to the Pentium 4 5xx series, but not Pentium D.
