    Lightbulb this is odd dont u think

    hmm im on a dually 2x466@560
    and the wierd thing is that i use win98
    since win2k wont install
    dead mobo

    but sisoft reports 2cpu´s
    should´nt it only find one ??
    because it only used one in the benchmarks

    Win98 cannot support 2 CPUs, win2000, Linux, unix, NT, etc can, but no win95, win3.1, or win98.

    Yes it does seem odd that Sisoft is able to detect 2 in win98, since 98 can't use the 2nd one. Perhaps it's reading that information out of your BIOS (which for sure knows you have 2), or maybe win98 can see a 2nd processor, but is only designed to run programs on one of them.

    What do you mean, dead mobo? How can you run 98 but not 2K? I may have missed something, but that doesn't make sense to me.

    well win2k installs correct but it wont load
    just as i see the desktop it freezes ive tested everything exept the mobo so that has to be it

    ya i know that win98 does not support SMP
    thats why its odd that sandra sees 2
    mbm 4.17 also sees 2cpu´z
