I have a new motherboard I am researching for a client but I am unable to get much info. I am not able to get to www.ability-tw.com, is this company still around? I have checked out the other sites suggested but I cannot find this motherboard. I would like to know if this will handle a faster processor than the options listed.
Elpina V1.1A AT Motherboard
PII 233-333 and Celeron 266-300
2 DIMMs and 2 SIMMs
Built in 64bit 3D AGP Graphics Accelerator
3 PCI and 2 ISA
Onboard 3D Sound Pro
A lot of these boards are rebranded PC Chips boards. Post the bios string from the first boot screen for ID. Or, cruise the PC Chips site and try a visual ID...
Elpina is not the manufacturer I think they are an importer. The board was made by PCchips. Go here: http://www.stud.fernuni-hagen.de/q3998142/pcchips/ Then search for the board.
Elpina is a contract manufacturer of printed circuit boards. PC-Chips has had much of their stuff made by them, so you might want to look there to identify your board.
From your description, it looks as if it's an M717, which would have Intel 440LX or EX chipset, SiS 6326 graphics, and C-Media 8330 aka "SoundPro 1869+" sound.
Before downloading BIOS, please look which Super-I/O chip (ITE brand) yours has, and download the right BIOS.
