Question How to identify a motherboard manufacturer?

I have found an old PC (P100) with an old VX-Pro motherboard which has no markings on it as to who made it (no FCC-ID, manufacturer code, or motherboard number).

Does anyone know how to find aout who made this board, and perhaps get a manual for it (see what the jumper settings are).

The only thing I have to go on is the AMI BIOS and serial information that is shown on the boot screen, as given below...

    [TOP LEFT OF SCREEN]
    BIOS-U (61202B)

    [BOTTOM LEFT]
    (C) American Megatrends Inc
    51-1700-008045-00111111-071595-I430VX-H

...I've tried using the 'hadware identifiers' at places like www.windrivers.com and www.driverguide.com with no joy.

Anyone know where I cen get the details about this board? thanks.

    Lightbulb

Now you got the BIOS ID string - that's all it takes.

"I430VX" - means it's not a VXpro, but an Intel 430VX chipset. VXpro is VIA Apollo VP-1 in disguise, this is not what you have.

AMI BIOS vendor ID 008045 is VTech/PC-Partner. Now go visit us over at Wim's BIOS pages (where you could have found these informations yourself :-), go to the "BIOS updates" section and follow the links on the PC-Partner page.

    Regards, Peter
