    Question Gigabyte 6BXE

I`m running a Pentium II 350 on this motherboard with the latest BIOS flashed to it. I`ve tried changing the bus speed to 133mhz to overclock it.....no luck, it locks up and won`t boot. Change the multiplier? uh uh, it gets the multiplier automatically from the processor. So the upgrade is a 650III. The board supports PII and III up to 650 (in the manual) but the new PIII coppermine chips with an adapter run at a core voltage of 1.65v but the older Katmai PIII chips run at 2.00v. Katmai are virtually impossible to source, so i need to get a coppermine. The question I need the answer to is, "will putting a Coppermine on to my 6BXE blow the chip or will the board set the correct voltage automatically?" It doesn`t say in the manual anywhere the core voltage for processors and it could be an expensive mistake. Thanks all

    Cool

I have a GA-6BXE and I used to have my P3600e@800 at 1.65v which it set it's self and a Geforce DDR and let me tell you it was fast as anything with the agp bus at 89mhz . I currently use it as my second system with a C400@600 and a v3 3k and it will still play any game I through at it with good frame rates so don't give up on your mobo yet .
