C400 / Soyo 6BA+ III combo good for 1st timer?
I'm going to try to build a PC box for the first time. Don't know much at all about Windows and PC's (Mac user). My usage will be games, surfing, and general home database stuff.
I'm thinking that the UDMA/66 on the rev IV board won't be all that noticible, and I'll save $20 and avoid any device recognition issues with Highpoint controller that I've read about. My goal is to drop in a cheap P3 600 a year from now.
So anybody have the above system? What will a Celeron 400 (in slotket) reliably overclock to on this board? Stability will be a big plus for me since my troubleshooting skills at this point are nil. What about video cards? Seems like the Creative Labs TNT2 (non Ultra) is a good choice.
Any big red flashing warning signs that I need to watch out for my first attempt at building a box?
Thanks in advance for any inputs.
