    dual slot 1 motherboards

Hi, I plan to run dual celerons 300a (ppga with converter card) and to overclock it with the FSB. I was just wondering if anyone can suggest a good motherboard or has any advice on the topic. I don't need scsi onboard. thx

Abit makes a couple of dual Slot 1 MBs. I've never used them, personally, but have used their Socket 7 product and have been very pleased with the product. Check out their site: http://www.abit-usa.com/ You can even download the users manuals in *.pdf files.

You probably want to consider a dual BX type motherboard.

a BX motherboard is required for what I'm trying to do (converter cards make PPGA slot1 compatible. I looked at Abit but I think they didn't go thru with the dual motherboard.. :/.. Currently I'm looking at the Epox.

I was just wondering if there was a dual motherboard I missed in my web surfing.. err.. research...

CLARIFICATION: I inadvertently said "Abit" when I meant DFI. It's the P2XBL/D. Sorry for the confusion.

    BigHammer,

I am planning to buy a Dual CPUP2 system: either 350 or 400 or 450 MHz chips. What is your opinion of overclocking a Dual P2 system (any of the 3 above)? My MB will be ASUS 2B-D. The CPUs will be purchased boxed, with Intel cooling fans. I plan to add a 2nd fan to the Tower case along with the PS fan. Should I reverse them and make the top exhaust?
I think that the current 350s cannot be overclocked. If so that leaves the 400s and 450s. I am concerned that 2 CPUs, O/C, may just get TOO hot. If not, I would sure like to take advantage of the speed.

    Sebastian

What about a board that doesn't need scsi.. I read a couple reviews, and the Tyan Tiger (the non scsi one) seems to get too hot because the slots are too close or something.

I haven't found an "ideal" dual overclocker board yet. .. tho the Epox Kp6-bs looks the most ideal.

I'll be sure to share my success/failure etc.

Check ASUS 370->Slit1 adapter, I gues it has junpers for voltage setting, if so any dual board would do (u can cut B21 on adapter easy) Good luck and don't forget to share the story of your progress

I have the Abit, PcChips, and Asus slockets..Asus with it's voltage adjustments is very, very stable, 300A at 504 2.3v.
Won't even budge on the BX6.

    Sebastin,
The Asus P2B-D's I have set up as servers and video editors are PII333s at 416 and PII350s at 392.
The Shuttle is the only one with independent cpu voltage adjustments.

sorry, been testing the new P2B and BX6 along with slockets...no time to post really.

    From Asus,
They decided in their infinite wisdom to have Lost Circuits and me become a tester for them.
No really, just the new slockets and new rev P2B. The price was free for 45 days, and $12.00 if I keep them. The board was free for 45 days or $124.00 if I keep it.
The others I buy to test.

I like Asus products and like stable machines..they go hand in hand.
I don't believe a crash a week is part of owning a machine.
