    To me, it's the very best! No problems. P-II 450 @ 527.

Others have had difficulties, I wonder what percentage of the total they represent. Abit is very good about replacing troubled boards.

YEP....I was wondering also the % of those
having troubles. So I thought this little survey might help out. On Anands board there are nothing but complaints/problems.

ABIT BX6R2 post good/bad comments please

If you have this MB up and running, please post any commnts good/bad that you have found. I have this board and will be setting in up in a few days. I'd like to know what
others have found out first and what I might expect. I'm NOT an OC'er so those that stuff doesn't apply to me.
    Thanks all!

I have tested the BX6 II with several ram types without a hitch. Even the Crutial (Micron) memory with the Toshiba ram ran without a hitch. Check out the review of hte BX6 II from the front page

I have the BX6-r2 and have returned the first one, second one with same problem, cannot run PII 400 @ 100 fsb. Have tested in BH6 and cpu runs fine. Also tried Cel. 300A in BX6 @ 450, and no go, but great in BH6, 3 differnt boards. I find out, the PC100 Micron and Toshiba 128M chip on noname boards I'm using is problem (borrowed friends "cheap" PC100 memory). Getting Mushkin w/Samsung G8 memory tomorrow. Expect problem to be gone, but the memory I have works fine in everything else.

I also had this board running of for 1 week and fine with 300A at 450Mhz. I even run it with my 64MB PC66 TI RAM. No glitch at all.

Since I have 2 300A in hand and tested both is OC to 450MHZ, so I prepare to buy another BX6-2 for my daughter.

I hope the bad experience of the earlier reader is only a limited problem in a specific batch!!

I also upgraded my BIOS to JH last nite, no problem.

    okay,
generally with the abitbx6 v2 what is the warranty period? The reason I am asking is that I am putting together a new system piece by piece, and if I buy the mobo and don't install it for 2 weeks and I have problems am i screwed?

It depends on where you buy the MB, mine is 1 year warranty.

    IBCurious:

I talked to Oskar_wu via Anand's BBS and he said Abit would exchange any bad board. I got mine from B&C Computers, http://bcompusol.com/ and they were very good about it, cross shipped and didn't charge for the shipping.

Finally, Abit has another happy customer, me!

I replaced the PC100 mem I had with Mushkin today and it works as advertized. Put the petal to the metal and zipped up to 496 with the PII 400 @ 2.0V. I'll throttle back and am satisfied to run stock and especially without any problem.

I have a 300a(costa rica) and (1)128mb Corsair PC-100 mem chip...Not only have i had a god awful time trying to OC, but now i can't power-on the PC. I think from what i've seen in the bios and on the board and read on the net it's a good board if not the best...think i may have one from a bad batch.

My ABIT BX6R2 sucks when it comes to AGP Video cards. I've tried 3 different ones and it only boots 50% of the time. I suspect the AGP slot/implementation is bad.

I am incredibly unhappy with their lack of knowledge of their own products. When I told them what beep codes were produced as a result of the error, they had to fiddle around and produce the same result--they didn't even know or have a listing of what the beep codes meant.

One more thing about their website. It is plastered all over to "Don't hesitate to send our tech support some email." When I did, I get the automated reply that I should first contact my supplier. Seems a bit contradictory.
