Motherboard Woes

Ok...This is really making me mad. I bought a computer not too long ago(6 months), and starting about 1 month ago, everything started going on....
First: It booted and before getting to the part where the monitor turns on it would beep twice and nothing would come out of the monitor(it would still boot though)...Ok..I have no idea how i fixed that..Just pressing on stuff and one time it worked
Then: It started booting and nothing would come out of the monitor....No beeping..just nothing would come out....Ok...I was just wondering if this is the motherboard or if this is the video card....Cause the thing is..It doesnt do it all of the time..just once in awhile...
If someone could help me out, I would really be very gracious....I am totally clueless

did your computer come with a manel see if it has a "error beep codes" section this should tell you what the beeps mean. but you can try to reseat the memory.

have you got a sound card installed? I had this problem briefly and when I removed the sound card (sb pci 128), I got my video back, I presume it was an i/o address or interrupt conflict. Reinstalling the soundcard later on, windoze95 managed to sort the problem out for me, otherwise you might have to make manual adjustments in device manager. Read all the help files that come with your sound card or other cards for possible conflict info.
