    CPU temp for Abit BX6-2

In the manual it said we need to buy a 10K thermistor for this. I am wondering where should one end of the thermistor be attached to(I kown one end attach to RT2 jumper). Is it to the heatsink of the CPU, which spot should the correct place to truly reflect the CPU temperature?

The ideal place for the thermistor would be embeded in the center of the heatsink, touching the CPU plate.

That is difficult, so find a place nearby and assume the actual reading is somewhat higher.

I bought a 10K thermistor for $2 in Radio shack. Find a wire with good fit jumper head for RT2 and solder the other end to the thermistor. I put it in the heatsink near the CPU. Now it works fine in both BIOS and the HW Detection s/w that comes with the BX6-2 board.

    Thanks
