Over-riding CPU PnP on PCChips M761 brd

I have a celeron 300a and wish to run it at 100 mhz bus, but my only options in the bios screen are for 66mhz, even though it's a BX board. There arent any jumpers, it automatically senses a Celeron. Can I override this any way? It's a PCChips M761 w/AMI Bios.

Don't bother! I have a PC Chips board with auto cpu setting and it's a real hassle. Forget it - I searched in vain for ages to alter the bus/multipliers. The motherboards are just useless for O'Cing...
You might find that PCChips sticks to the Intel motherboard recommendation and sets the bus speed according to the B21 pin. You could try taping it, but on that board I don't think you'll be able to get it to work...
    Have fun...

I've got an M729. I modified the pins to get 2.2V and I run my 300A at 450. Instead of taping the contacts I used a small sharp knife and created a small gap along them. If I want I can easily close them later by using the same compound used to repair rear window defogger elements in cars. If you decide to break the contacts be sure to verify with a multimeter that they're broken, otherwise you might end up with a voltage combination you don't want and fry the chip. In any case, get a good heatsink and fan combination because it can get hot. Have fun.
