Problem with Celeron 300a and BH-6
Hello everyone
I installed a Celeron 300A into a Abit BH-6 motherboard.
It has the latest Bios update which should support Cerelon chips (BH6_JJ.BIN)
However, I get an error message when the system boots, saying that the "CPU has become unworkable, or CPU contents have changed"
Hit F1 to continue, or DEL to enter Soft Menu"
If I hit F1 to continue, the system continues to boot properly, and I can get into Win98 OK
It also recognizes it as a "Celeron 300A" when it first comes on.
Do you have any incite to what could be happening?
Thanks everyone for your help

Hi Just go into the CPU SOFT MENU II and make sure SPEED ERROR HOLD is disabled. That'll fix yall up

It may take more than that.
Be sure to reset the appropriate values to match your CPU.
(Speed Error Hold only applies to overclocking situations.)

If you select the "accepted" values for the Celeron at 300(66), you should not receive these errors. It's only when you manualy specify the CPU properties that this error should occur.
