Greetings - I've got an MVP3G which works fine except for one problem which I'm told could be fixed in a BIOS update. I've gotten emails from a number of people who have same problem & say this has been a *long* standing issue. Some
have MVP3E's that still have this problem also...
If someone installs 2 x 128mb (of certain brands) PC100 memory in MVP3G (in any 2 DIMMs), the system will not boot past initial POST unless SDRAM bank interleave setting in BIOS is set to "disabled". The correct & faster (+5%) setting should be "4-bank". I've heard of this problem with Corsair, Hitachi, Toshiba , & Samsung (GH chips/CAS2)...
I use 2/1/99 BIOS & 2x128=256mb Samsung GH chips/CAS2. Try this exact combination in your lab to get same results...
Are you aware of this problem? If so, do you intend to fix it in a future BIOS update?
