    ASUS P2B, BIOS update error

I get an error message on boot up. It says "CPUID incorrect 00000653 update not loaded" So I have tried to flash the Bios in MSDOS mode. But I am unable to open it? I can't acess the flash memory writer utility. I have downloaded the latest update from ASUS, but also can't load it?

did you boot from a boot disk w/o any thing in the config.sys or autoexec.bat.
If you didn't thats your problem

No, I only got a CD rom disk, that contained programs for monitering the cpu, fan speed, and virus protection software. I have tried to make a copy of my bios, as followed by instructions in the manual. It says to hold down DEL. while booting up. All that does is give me some options to enable or disable features in the BIOS and CMOS. No AFLASH.EXE exist anywhere as far as I can find? So I still don't know? I thank you for your reply.

you didn't unzip the file first.
Also you are using a cpu that isn't, but is recognized.
Isn't it booting fine, and running fine?
It happens on almost all Asus boards and others without the very newest bios and in no way shape or form affects the operation of the computer.

the problems you have are probably lnked to the memory modules getting hot.
As I stated, the bios error on the screen have nothing to do with it.
E-mail me if you want a step by step for how to do the update.
    Sorry real late..gota run.

I got ahold of AFLASH from a friend. I used it and the update, and fixed the problem. But now while powering down, I have to use the powerbutton to turn off my system? I never had to before, It used to shut off from the start button? Does this have to do with the new revision 1008nh.awd? Thanks for your help.
