Abit BH6 with Celeron 300A Problem
I have had a problem with the CPU Soft detecting my Celeron 300A and even when I select Celeron 300 within the CPU soft I recieve an error(unworkable CPU). However, when I use the user defined CPU settings and choose (66 X 4.5) I am able to get beyond POST. Is this a problem that is corrected in ABIT's BIOS patch, and is what I am experiencing normal?

Hey Bob,
I also got the CPU is unworkable message. A friend told me that many new systems (being set up for the first time) need to have the CPU parameters set before functioning properly. I just went to user definded settings and let her rip. Hope this is helpful.

The Abit BH-6 bios did not reconize the Celeron 300/333 until bios release (FL) dated 9/10/98.The bios for the board have updated 4 times since then with, the current being (JJ). Visit Abit's site:
www.abit-usa.com/
If you don't have the current bios (JJ), your manual tells how to find out which you have on boot up. If you do need to update be sure to use the correct flash util that Abit recommends. There was a change as to which version of AWDFLASH to use with some of the current bios updates.
