    IBM aptiva +voodoo banshee

    Problem is that motherboard bios (acer alladdin 3) does not recognise pci slots when card is inserted and onboard motherboard vga disabled (via jumpers)IBM have their own bios program, how can I get round this? system is 32meg RAM, Cyrix166. As far as I know the voodoo banshee (2d+3d) is not faulty. Helplines of no use!!!

    Make sure that you know that the banshee is not faulty, take it to a friend's comp and install it there to test it. Other then that, you may have to upgrade you motherboard to a newer one. If you look around you can get one that you cyrix will work with for about $60. But if you are planning on really upgrading in the near future (ie. new CPU), you could wait to get a new MB with that CPU, or just make sure the MB you do buy is compatible with the new CPU you will want to get.
