ATI Rage Fury drivers vs Window me drvs

I purchased the ati rage fury 128 and loaded windows me on a new system(abit kt7/duron 800)and had no problems until I loaded the drivers from the cd...Safe mode was where I end up so after reloading win me I just stayed with win me drivers...My question is will I get the most out of the video card or should I go to the web site and get current drivers and programs that I might be missing.Ps this was a retail card with 95/98 cdrom.

Took a Look at the web site today and I will most likely check it out on the system. Thanks for the help.

You'd rather install the new drivers from ATI's site and read their FAQ about WinMe to see if they are any different from the standard WinMe drivers. If you want DVD playback (main reason why people buy this card) you'd stick to the ATI site drivers + Multimedia Centre from the ATI CDROM.

To install new drivers for your card, first go to display properties and change the adapter to Standard VGA PCI adapter. Reboot (to this ugly 256 color GUI) and then intsall the new drivers.
