    Angry Xentor 32 garbled screen

I just installed a Guillemot Xentor 32 on my system which is a Athlon 500 oc'ed to 700 and 1.6 volts. It's on a MS6167 with the latest bios. I also have a CL PCI128 sound card. I'm running Win 98. With the Xentor I get black blotches on the screen that increase until the screen is unreadable. If I open something and close it the area behind the open window is relatively clear but fills up with the blotches. I have tried all the drivers with no effect.
The card is seated properly and the fan is running.
    Any suggestions?

    Thanks
    Dennis

Assuming your using a good 300watt or greater power supply, it sounds either like a cooling problem, or possibley a defective card. A bad RAMDAC or a bad piece of video memory can create these effects. Since your o/c'd I will assume you have a good cooling system in your case, so that leads me to believe you have a defective card. I also assume you have ran the latest 3.77 beta drivers, plus disabled AGP 2x and sideband addressing. If so, you might want to start looking at your warantee information.

    Question

    Yes to all except-
    How do I disable sidebanding?
How to I enable only 1X AGP?

    Thanks

By using this nice little registry tweaker that will perform the proper modifications for you:

This is only applicable if you have the AMD Irongate chipset. If your running the VIA chipset, have you installed the latest 4-in-1 driver package from VIA. It is needed for several AGP function calls. It can be found here:

    Angry

Well I tried everything, no luck.
The place I bought it from will give a refund but if it works for them they send it back with no credit. I just hope it's not and AMD or Microstar thing.
    Thanks for the help
