PCI to AGP and other questions
This may sound retarted but is there and will there ever be a way to put an AGP slot into a motherboard or convert a PCI slot to AGP. Like I said this probably sounds stupid but Im just new to all this stuff.
The reason I am asking is because my new COmpaq has an AGP built on to the motherboard and I can't upgrade it...
P.S. Im goinh to buy a Voodoo3 2000 PCI soom. This is the best PCI right?
P.S.S. What kinds of frame rates should I expect w/ my 400Mhz K6-2 64 meg machine in games like Quake 2 and Half Life.
P.S.S.S. How long do you think my setup will be sufficient w/ the Voodoo3 for future games.
THanks a bunch

agp is an accelerated graphical port...it has no relation to the pci bus therefore it would never be able to be made to work...

Before you buy, make sure you can disable the built-in AGP. Also make sure to make PCI the primary video in the BIOS. Otherwise you won't get any decent performance out of the PCI card. And remember you are moving video from a 66 mhz AGP bus to a 33 mhz PCI bus so don't be surprised if the improvement is not as great as you may have hoped.

2 - 3 years for games...
but going to be obsolete if u compare with future 3d cards though...
