Open GL crashes OCed 300a - any ideas?

I get a lot of system crashes while using Open GL intensive appz on my 300a - plenty of Doc Watsons and BSODs. I have tried several different Permedia 2 cards, and each has yielded similar results. However, when I conduct the same tests without OpenGL, my system has no problems.

Does anyone have any ideas/input? I am running the 300a/BH6 combo at 464 mhz at 1.95 volts. (Changing voltage doesn't help) Is it simply a problem with Permedia 2 cards? Should I try another card? Any advice is welcomed!

Well , I have no real answer to your question but are you sure your system is stable enough?? I mean, what kind of OpenGL programs do you use? a GOOD way to make sure your overclocked system is stable is to run Quake II demos for overnight. If your system crashes.. well, maybe it's running too hot, so you need more cooling or cut down the MHz.

Also, how stable are your videocards drivers to begin with? Can you run the Quake demo overnight without overclocking your Celeron??

The fact that you can boot the machine and play for a while doesn't mean your system is 100% stable. In which case is no use crying.

Hopefully this helped figuring out the bug..

The system can run at 464 @ 1.95 v running Quake looped demos all night - provided the software rendering mode is turned on. The second I add OpenGL, it crashes (well, after 30 minutes or so). This, combined with the fact that I can post it at 504 at 2 volts suggests that any problems I have don't stem from instability in the Celeron itself. Plus, every BSOD points to glint.dll - the OpenGL driver.

I have got it running stable now. I turned up the voltage to 2.05, decreased the clock speed to 450. Apparently the video card couldn't handle the 3 MHz overclock.

I heard something silly, but you never know. If you are running with only one dimm chip, move it to the 3rd slot, and I heard that this fellow got no more crashes.
