200 MMX with RIVA TNT
What kind of performance advantage would a Creative Labs RIVA TNT have over a Voodoo 1 card on a 200 MMX Pentium. I ask because Im thinking of upgrading and I here the TNT's are CPU limited. Im not expecting a miracle just a notable advance because the 2D is another main upgrade concern (I currently have a 2MB S3 virge).
Thanks in advance

hi algeron
just by adding a 16mb vid card you will see a hugh increase in performance it'll give you 4mb 2d and 12mb 3d the c/l riva is an awsome card and i can highly recomend it your s3 virge is a bit out dated now and is in need of an upgrade higher refresh rate's and screen resolutions first off a higher speed ramdac blisteringly fast performance aswell
go for it you wont be dissapointed i promise

Hi Algeron,
You are right that the TNT will be limited by the processor. But then so was the Voodoo1. Thing is that 3d graphics require floating point maths and this is something the PII is really good at. To supply the TNT with all its data, you really do need a PII.
But you will notice an improvement and the TNT is well worth the money.
