Voodoo 3 what does it do??
Voodoo 3 is better than voodoo 2, but why,
the prices ?
Well, Voodoo3 is better, the origional specs have all been downgraded one whole version (i.e. the V3 3500 now has the specs that the V3 3000 had and the V3 3000 has the specs the V3 2000 had), but the prices weren't changed. To be honest with everyone, you might as well get 2 Voodoo2 and SLI them cause the only Voodoo3 that beats the graphics you get from SlI'ing is the 3500 and it costs about $100 more then 2 Voodoo2's cost right now. Only reason I see for getting the V3 is to free up 1 or 2 PCI slots (that is if you get an AGP V3). V2 SLI still rules the 3D world (well TNT owners might disagree )
V3 also has 2d support and will support the AGP 4x design.
Fallen Kell is right.
If you don't have a slot problem then go fot the two Voodoo 2 cards.
Then get a good 2d card and you're on top of the game.
At least that's the way my computer is set up
Voodoo3 is a combined 2d/3d card. It is really nothing more than the 128-bit Banhee 2d core fused with two Voodoo2 processors on one board. It is definitely worth the money.
I've already got it on my March shopping list. (For those who already have SLI, I would bother with the Voodoo3.)
