Buying a new video card.

I'm going to be buying a new video card and I wanted to know what everyone thought about my choice. I currently have an ATI 2D/3D card with 2 meg of video ram, and a Monster 2 12meg card.
I want to replace the ATI card, and I was thinking about getting a Matrox Mystique G200 with 16meg of RAM. Or does everyone agree that the TNT is so much faster that its worth the slightly worse graphics (I'm one of those guys who likes really crisp graphics, speed is sort of second).

I find that the stb 4400 tnt is better in 2d then the g200. I play a game called subspace and my frames rate are much higher with the stb velocity 4400 then with a g200. Also I have a 8mb voodoo2 and both cards work great together. My system 300a oc 464 64mb ram & abit bh6 mb.

p.s It is fun to play games at 1600-1200 or 1280-1024 with the TNT card. D3D rocks with the TNT. Just turn off your D3D on your voodoo2 and let the TNT do all the work.

Go with the TNT. Friggen amazing once it works.....

I've just finished installing a couple TNT cards. One was a CL TNT on an older OC'd Pentium Pro 233. The other was Diamond's Viper 550 on a new AMD k6-400(nice chip btw) and Asus P5-a motherboard.

First off. Installation is a ***** and a half. Buggy buggy buggy buggy. Be prepared to have ALL current Bios's/firmwares (for the card and motherboard) and software drivers.

If you like "crisp" graphics, this thing will blow you away.

Oh, and some people say you need a beast processor to run a TNT. Not true. That old PPro 233 runs great. Of course it'd run better on a Pentium III 500 but what wouldn't?
