the only way your going to get it running cooler is to get rid of the cooermaster those are not good heatsinks at all, there are much better heatsinks on the market
the 2 best are the globalwin and the Alpha
my personal fav is still the Alpha PAL6035 with a Ys-tech fan it's not loud and cools as good or better than the globalwin FOP-38 with a screamin Delta black lable fan

you can order both from here http://millisec.safeshopper.com/53/cat53.htm?679

For now you could try using the program CPU Cool. I use it and it keeps my idle temps way down like from 48*C to 30*C (WOW!) but under load it doesn't matter because the cooling pretty much turns off. Click this link and try it!---> http://members.nbci.com/_XMCM/podien/CPUCOOL9.ZIP

vtruty I was not trying to be a smart A@@
but if you check any of the heatsink reviews that have been done the coolermaster heatsinks always end up at the bottom of the list on there cooling ability they realy are not very good heatsinks for a T-bird a P1 or K6-2 there ok but they just dont have the cooling for a T-bird

    quote, from Frostytech:
( Now we've always found Coolermaster to make some pretty good quality heatsinks, but like all coolers, what was once good can become dated rather quickly.)

now the biggest problem with them is the FAN's that coolermaster use on there heatsink's, they just do not move enough air to keep the heatsink cool. If you wanted you could try upgrading the fan it's self and keep the heatsink you would probably see a drop in temps.
but if you realy wanted to get your chip as cool as you can using a heatsink fan combo I would get a new one from some one else
even the Thermaltake super orbs and volcano 2 do a better job and can be had for under $20.00

but I would would go for a Globalwin, Alpha Taisol, Vantec, ThermoEngine or Swiftech the list goes on of very good heatsinks that will keep your chip happy and cool
remember you get what ya PAY for.

here are a few more Heatsink reviews for you to check out if you would like

Why does my CPU run so hot?

Hi, I have 2 case fans which keep my case at about 28*C and a CPU fan on a 1200GHz Athlon. My CPU keeps on beeing in the 50*C w/o any load on it. I rechecked if the Cool Master CPU fan and heatsink are installed correctly and they seem to be OK. The heatsink gets pretty hot so I know that it takes heat from the CPU. How can I get it to run cooler?

    VJT
