I cut a 3" hole in the side and covered it with thin foam filter. I put in a high volume fan blowing directly on the CPU and video card. Dropped my temps instantly. I left the foam pillowed up above the fan to get more effective filter area.

    T-Bird Heat Problem

I have a 900mhz T-Bird and a coolermaster DP5-6H51 Heatsink. My temps are 35C idle and 55C load. Something is wrong, I just applied the Arctic Silver II stuff and the heat hasn't dropped. Anyone has any suggestions?

oh yeah, I'm planning to run this cpu at full 24/7 for the RC5 Project, is 55C an acceptable temp for work around?

55c is pretty high if ur gonna leave it 24/7. I did the same thing, drilled an 80mm hole right on the casing right above the processor. Shot temps down to 40+. Change the Heatsink/fan to something bigger. Thats about it! Shoudl drop u to low 40's
