How do I set up KT7A Raid?

    Hi everyone,

I have never set up Raid. I want to use Abit KT7A RAID MB using 2 identical HDD in the Stip mode. From what i understand I have to attach a 3rd HDD (1st and 2nd HDD attached to the Raid controler)in the IDE to set up the OS (W2K in my case) first. Then I have to install the Raid drives. From here on I am not sure. How do i set the raid for stip mode......after this i change the CMOS so the RAID drives become bootable. Do I then install the OS in the Raid HDD's.

Please let me know the exact steps or point me to URL that I can learn how to do this.

    Thank you

    Rohan

You setup the Raid array, then throw in your Win2k setup disk. It will say something like "press F6 to load Raid drivers" do this and put in the raid disk that came with your motherboard. Then setup and go. You setup the Raid array in the Raid card's bios, am I right? Enable to onboard Raid in the mobo bios, then you'll get a raid screen saying press F-something to enter raid setup? It's along these lines, It's been a bit since I've setup an Abit Array.
