Got my duron almost to 1Ghz, will try harder!!!

    Hey guys,

I almost got my duron 750 to 1Ghz, it is now running 950, at 1.75V.

I think I can get it to 1Ghz, cause I do have a nice little fop38, so that should be okay.

Here are the links for the sandra scores:

    See ya,

And the funny thing is, there is still the standard thermal tape on the fop38.

I have to wait for about a week till the shop has it again.

So far so good, just that extra 50Mhz.

I just might try upping the fsb, should improve memory scores as well.

sweet ultima...now if i could just get my duron700 over 963(107x9) i'll be happy my cpu just doesn't like the 9.5 multiplier. it'll run at the 9.5 mult. as long as the fsb is 100. anything higher and it gets as whacked as my ex-wife.

Okay, so how do you push your CPU to do that? What do you do, burn in? If so, what program? My 700 Duron can boot @ 950 but it has system registry errors. I want to push more out of it like you...

all you guys with Duron 700's I've built 4 systems with duron 700's in the last month and none of them would do over 950MHz stable
    1 system with a Asus A7V , 2 with A7pro's and 1 with a MSI pro2A

my personal system with a duron 750 is at 1 gig

get the chip as cold as you can push as much voltage through it as you feel safe doing
and clock it as fast as it will go, and if you get 1gig stable with a 700 let us all know how you did it

    I got 3 D700 running at 1016, 1026 and 999 (it can run at 1035 but 9x111 is faster), on 2 A7V's and a KT7 (non raid). THey all run @ 1.8V with 2 FOP32-1 and a Alpha Pal35.

I also had two other 700's running at 1G (but fried the first and sold the second).

So 1G with the 700 is possible!

Got my duron at 1083mz but still missing a foot.FOP32-1 is all you need the delta 38 is for people that like bomb's in their ear's! Or can't hear anything anyway, that extra cooling is not worth it. Just put artic silver on and a copper shim so you will not break the chip and a lot of lead. Maybe I got a extra good one! Have a two year war if it blows and I will return it and remove pencil marks LOL. Have a working raid also with Quantum's 7200 AS,100mb controllers, donot use maxtor's tryed to add maxtor to raid -worked but slowed raid down ! Maxtor's suck in raid,.

The best I could get out of my KT7/Duron 700 is 981@1.85v after changing over to fop-32 from an old Alpha. The alpha was able to run 950@1.825 but the cpu temp was 52c. A little to hot for my taste. When I received my fop-32 and arctic silver, I slapped it on the chip after redoing the connections cuz I was not going to take it off again if could help it.

After taking my time and lots of praying, the fob-32 finally clicked in place. Soon therafter (the whole weekend) it has been running 980@1.85 49c 24/7 RC5. Tried the 9.5x105 setting. It was a no go. Oh well I hope the next time I have to mess with this box is in the summer time when heat is upon us. Otherwise, I'll take the speed,Thank you very much.
