Maximum PC just reviewed a system with that in it, the Dell "Dimension XPS B800R",
    March 00, page 76.
They raved about it, giving the machine their first-ever "perfect 10" for a system.

Can't find it at their website, or I'd give a link.

Ed, if you read the new issue thats the SECOND 10 i believe, an older P2 266 was rated a 10 also, but classified asa workstation I guess, they corrected it in the new March issue. I must say, this issue kicks *you know what*, It has a pretty complete guide to building a car mp3 player, very interesting. And has some pretty nice reviews of cheap systems. I love my Max PC, got it till Feb '01 right now =).

Yeah, I see now that their previous mag, "Boot" did give a 10 to Micron in 1997.

It IS a real good issue this time, but every one I've gotten so far has been well done.

IMO, that review of so-called cheap systems has one major flaw, though. The classification of "sub-$1500" systems seems way too high to call cheap in today's market. More like mid-range. After all, you can get PC's for a few hundred now. A co-worker bought an E-Machine last week for $150 after all rebates!
Of course, he's stuck with MSN for 2 years, but he said that was OK since he'd be paying for access SOMEWHERE even w/o a rebate!

Dell had also made a 64mb GEFORCE 256 DDR card with their latest Dell Dimensions!

    Thumbs down

Don't listen to them! They all secretly work for Dell. I have to hide now, they will send out cyborgs to get me.
