    Question What's the difference????????????

    I've got 2-PII's, one says:
    B80523P400512e SL2SH 2.0V

    the next:
    80523PY400512PE SL2U5

I know they're both PII 400's, but what's the rest?

Thanks! Now!! the SL2U5 says it's a stepping 2, core stepping dB0 and the other says stepping 1, core stepping dA1

Is one better than the other??

You can check on http://www.overclockers.com in the CPU database which on of the types id better for overclocking.I already checked it out for you,and the SL2U5 seems to be better for overclocking. But I would just try which one overclocks better. The one that overclocks better, even when you don't overclock it,will be more stable.

I appreciate the info. I'm more into AMDs then Intel, but they were given to me so I can't complain! Just need to find a couple boards for them!

    Thanks again

If you go dually you'll need NT4 or Win2000 to run it, and most progs won't even recognize the 2nd cpu.

Yes, but when running more than one program at once under a multiprocessor capable Operating system, it will still benifit, since one thread can run off one processor and another can run under the other. Granted, the performance in either program wont increase any.
I would definitly go dual, since one P2 400 wont go a long way these days.
Check out Tyan's Slot 1 boards. Tyan isnt a good overclockers board, but P2 400's arent good overclocking chips. Very few companys make Dual slot 1 Boards, and Tyans just happen to be very stable.
