    Question Using gold leaf

Heh, has anyone tried using gold leaf as a conduction agent between the cpu and a pelt after lapping? The stuff is pretty ductile and should have great thermal conductivity. by simply rubbing the leaf on any irregulaties should be filled!

Isn't copper a better thermal conductor? It's certainly cheaper.

You can also purchase copper and aluminum in the same way as gold leaf...

I asked this one a while back... And btw gold leaf is pretty cheap.(we are talking a 1" square) but considering it will become very maluable at a considerably low temp copper or aluminum would probably be the better choice. Just my 2 cents worth. Mykex
