RDRam and DDR?

What is the difference? Are Rambus and DDR the same thing? What do they look like compared to SDRam? Whats the future of Ram? I know Our PC-133 is gonna be out the window in a year or two when we hit the 200 mhz busses and stuff, so whats goin on?

DDR is a technology where information is transmitted on both the rising and falling edges of the clock. This essentially doubles the speed of the RAM, whatever that may be. There is DDR SDRAM in the works, and from what I read, it should be pretty good. Rambus or RDRAM is some technology that allows FAST RAM (up to 800 Mhz right now). Problem is, that it has a lot of problems running that fast. Apparantly it's good for non-computer applications, so it's probably not going to die. As for the future of computer RAM, I think it's going to go the way of DDR SDRAM.

they also have HSDRAM or High Speed DRAM. These are fast access RAM and are very good.
