    Thumbs up

    Hey Plucky,

I've heard that many athlon 500's actually have a 650 core!!!!
And if not, it still should be able to get you to at least 700-750!!!
There are programs with which you will be able to set your cpu's L2 cache to 1/3 instead of 1/3, which then gives you some more space to o/c!!!!

You probably already know it, but have a look at the cpu database at www.overclockers.com

Much info on how far people have gone with their chips!!!

Lightbulb Getting an Athlon 500@650mhz w/Goldfiner card....can it go any higher?

I know absolutely nothing about Athlons.

I do know that this is the early one with 0.25micron and L2 cache @ 1/2 speed, that's about it.

Don't know a ditto what the Goldfinger looks like or how it functions, but do know that it helps in overclocking?

Can anybody give me a link on this whatcha-mut-call-it Goldfinger card? Did a search but nothing came up, so I'd appreciate it if you could please

Going to test and see how goes, if I don't like it I'll end up selling it.

Anyways, thanks for any thoughts in advance

    Plucky
