    Exclamation L2 Cache on a PIII 500

Have an Abit BE6 and a PIII 500 @ 550 110X5 and 2.10cv what is the best setting for the L2 cache, it is now set on default. Could I change it an go faster and still stay stable. Or if anyone has any other sugguestions for my combination of board and processor it would be greatly appreciated.

This board is good one. Extra 50 Mhz is too small step and your L2 should work fine at default setting. But... I tried one Celeron333A@500 once. When L2 was default (5) I ran a stability test program and got lots of errors (but no crashes). When I set L2 to 15, using H. Oda's program, I didn't get any of errors. But it was 167Mhz jump. If you could run your CPU for example at 124x5 or more, L2 latency will be handled as well...

    Cool

I have the same board and chip. These are my settings

    PIII 500@620
    L2 Cache is at 1
    Voltage is 2.0
    PC100 128mg memory is at 2

Did have my system at @600 with the L2 Cache set to defalt, had to start at 2.2v and after burning it in for awhile was able to drop the voltage down to 2.0. @620 have to set L2 to 1, get to many errors otherwise.
