Question K6/2 500 GVC Mobo against Celery 400 on Abit be6-2

The price of the k6/2 is cheaper, only about £20, which will give greater performance game wise, don't do a shed load of graphics or anything else.

I've got a G200 Mystique w/8mb onboard at the moment, and I know this is a bit of a weak link in the graphics.

Any recommendations, obviously I'll o/c whichever I get. all opinions welcome. I've only got a k6/2 300 now, so anything will be an improvement.

    Thanks all

For those games without support for 3D-Now, I'd say the Celey is gonna give you better performance as it has a better FPU (IMHO) than the K6-2.

I also think that the ABIT board will be better for over-clocking than the GVC.

Just my two cents worth...let the Intel vs AMD arguements begin <lol>.

The K6-2 would be better, it runs at a 100mhz FSB, and even though it has a poorer FPU, the FPU runs quicker. The CPU mark is higher than equivelent PII's (o/c'd) too.
