    Smile ***POLL*** Best Utility

Just wanted to know what everyone thinks the best utility or system optimizer is. Also whats the best freeware or shareware program that you've downloaded and do any of you use internet optimizers, and if so what are the best of those. Curious Minds Want To Know?

Frustration is a way of life... But should it be?

Second the vote for PowerDesk. I hesitate to think what I would do without it.
Been using it since Version 1.

Most optimizers are serious jokes, but I like the following apps, becuase they actually work:

TweakBios - It allows real time editing of chipset registries, plus allows access to many advanced options not found in you bios setup.

PowerTweak - Allows editing and optimization of some advanced chipset and cpu options. Plus it comes in versions for Win9x, Linux, and BeOS. Try it out: www.powertweak.com

Modem Wizard - It actually performs direct line testing of your internet connection to determine the best settings. The results are amazing as compared to MaxMTU and others that just oofer generic settings.

I like Rambooster and Power desk. Cacheman is good for smaller hdds. I actually like Mijenix's Zip utility better than Winzip, but Winzip is free (with nagging of course)

Metapad is certainly my most used utility. It's a Notepad replacement. It does all the things you wished notepad would do (like replace), but is still small and FAST just like notepad. The best way to use it is to actually delete Notepad.exe, rename Metapad.exe to Notepad.exe and put it in your Windoze directory.
